I am soon a 59 year old sexually staight rounder, making a comeback. I have been of the edge of wetness several times in my life. I am from a small town in southeast Texas and left those morays and gossip behind in 1968. I have traveled all over the US and much of Europe when I was in the Navy. I've literally been there and done that in just about every sense of the phrase. I've been rode hard, put up wet and hung out to dry on more than a few occasions. No moss has gathered under my feet because I've been on the move constantly. I left Orange TX. in 1968 and been back just a few times for various and asunder reasons. When I got out of the Navy in December 1971 I went back to Orange and promptly left soon thereafter. I went back to Boston Mass., my most favorite city to visit, and went to work as an equipment manager and driver of the truck for Aerosmith. A story unto it self. I lived with Steven Tyler and Joe Perry before addiction and aids became household words and had to get out of that situation because of my addictive personallity. During that period I had a blast. The method of payment according to Steven was $100 a week and all the women and drugs I could handle. He was absolutely telling the truth. I've had many brushes with fame but the fortune has always eluded me. I was on David Letterman on a phone call and got and invite to be on the show. Whatever reason I didn't go which ended up being a good thing cause had I accepted I would have not gotten on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno in the years that followed. I have been there as a guest with Jay on 3 different occasions doing animal sounds and chit chatting with Jay. He dubbed me "The Incredible Barking Man" and I still sign autographs with that title. I can't fail to mention that was all a direct result of winning a trip to the Daytona 500 on the syndicated radio show The John Boy and Billy Big Show. You guys Rock. I'm trying to revitalize my career by doing some of my original music that has always been near and dear to my heart. I wrote a song about Roky Erickson in 85 or 86 after Roky had come by my house to fix his disconnected radio that still managed to receive ailen messages. I met his ex and son during that span as well.. Roky is making a comeback now and is doing very well. When "You're Gonna Miss Me" hit the charts in the late 60's. Roky was on the cusp of psycaldellic rock and influenced many of his peers during that period. But he left this plane amd just returned a couple of years ago. Matter of fact check out the documentary that was recently released entitled " Your Gonna Miss Me" it is awsome. Some video from the Tonight Show and the tribute I wrote for Roky will be on this website in the not to distant future. Looking forward to updating this very soon. Make sure to catch Tommy Joe Hills music on tvknob.com and catch him live on the song writers series June twenty eighth.
